A SPECIAL CR&S AWARD FOR MOTOCYCLE DESIGN IN MEMORY OF JOHN BRITTEN |

|
A young but already well-known marque amongst trade operators, CR&S has a precise identity within the panorama of motorcycle manufacturers. It was founded from a “rib” of the “Britten”, thanks to the close relationship between Roberto Crepaldi, founder of the marque, his partners and collaborators, and John Britten, the motorcycle designer from New Zealand who died prematurely in 1995. Hence the initiative to create an annual prize dedicated to him, to be awarded from 2006, for the most innovative motorcycle design to be presented in the various fairs. In this way, CR&S aims to make its contribution in highlighting one of the fundamental aspects of the motorcycle sector, able to touch not just the heart-strings but also challenge the laws of the relationship between form and function. The John Britten award for Motorcycle Design will be awarded annually by CR&S as recognition for those able to create a “work of art” from a motorcycle, stimulating admiration and a debate. In a frequently commonplace world, it is right to reward someone able to step out of the ranks: the single person, the man and his ability to make us dream, to astonish us. |
