Fada su a Milan cont il coeur e cont i man

With the study and production of prototypes now over, and following the positive outcomes of the preliminary tests and favourable reception from the public and press at the 2004 Intermot in Munich, it was decided to start manufacture of small numbers of the VUN. The aim is to build a pre-series of 10 bikes by the end of the year, whilst at the same time continuing the tests to fine-tune the various components, undertaking reliability tests and defining contracts with suppliers.

The technology for the in-house production of the frame and fork is also tested: both components are finally assembled on a specific “template” and “TIG” welded by hand in the CR&S workshop. At the Eicma in Milan in November, three VUNs in varying technical and aesthetic combinations are presented, as examples of the “infinite” range that can be acquired by customers.

These are displayed on a stand similar to a carousel, where adult children are able to look at and admire their favourite toys...

N.B. on 5th September, the 10th anniversary of the death of John Britten, CR&S unveiled a commemorative “ssculpture” now erected in the Britten workshop at Christchurch in New Zealand. A replica of this "sculpture" will, as from September 2006, be awarded annually as a prize by CR&S to the motorcycle designer who best interprets the technical and aesthetic canons John Britten has passed down to us.
